  • Scam alert: fraudsters impersonating City of Kitchener staff via email

    The City of Kitchener has been made aware of individuals reaching out to local businesses falsely claiming to be City employees.

    In this scam, fraudsters contact small business owners via email, claiming to represent the City's Special Events team, offering "exclusive" vendor opportunities for the Christkindl Market. The email uses specific details about the event and links to legitimate City webpages to dupe the recipient into sending money. City of Kitchener staff have contacted Waterloo Region Police Services (WRPS) to alert them to this scam and to prevent community members from being taken advantage of.

  • Artists invited to apply to be featured in Kitchener’s 2027 Rotunda Gallery exhibition program

    The City of Kitchener invites artists to apply to show their work at Kitchener City Hall’s Rotunda Gallery as part of the 2027 exhibition program. Interested artists can apply using the City’s online submission form until Thursday, August 27 at 5 p.m.

  • Celebrate Kitchener’s Memorial Cup champions with a community parade and rally

    Yesterday, the Kitchener Rangers won the Memorial Cup, bringing the trophy back to Kitchener for the first time since 2003. To honour this incredible achievement, the City of Kitchener and the Kitchener Rangers are joining together for a community-wide celebration and championship parade on Tuesday, June 2.

    At 5:39 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, Kitchener Fire responded to a fire within a building on Lancaster Street West. 

  • Pool closure and program cancellation

    Cameron Heights pool will be closed for maintenance on May 30-31. To accommodate programming that was scheduled at Cameron Heights, the 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. public swims on May 31 at Grand River Recreation Complex will be cancelled.
