Earlier this morning, Kitchener Fire (KFD) responded to a two-storey garage/shed fire located at Vanier Drive in Kitchener. The call came in at approximately 4:40 a.m., and four fire trucks were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, crews encountered an active fire within the structure and began suppression efforts.
With double-digit temperatures on the way, City of Kitchener crews are conducting weekly inspections of likely locations for localized flooding, and so far, conditions are looking good for a safe melt.

The City is now accepting applications from classic car owners, businesses and entertainers who are interested in showcasing their work at one of the City’s summer events. After receiving over 1,500 votes from the community, the City of Kitchener’s final seven snow plows have been given new monikers.These plows will join Kitchener’s fleet named in 2023 and 2024 – including Scoopy Doo, Plowasaurus Rex, Baby Snowda, Mr. Plow and more – which are familiar fixtures throughout the city as they’ve helped keep roads clear and safe for travel.
